Superstitious players believe in the blogger “curse.” The one where they lose the chip lead after having their picture taken.

Tim Clermont (Tampa, FL) is turning that premise upside down and endorses the blogger “good luck charm.”

Clermont takes his stack from 200k to 270k when his AK cracks AA.

“Nothing to report here,” deadpans Clermont, “just Ace-King cracking Aces, and I’m the lucky one.”

Clermont is still stacking his chips on the next hand when he raises to 6k from UTG. Joe Squires (Tampa, FL) makes it 12k, Clermont calls and they see a flop of Jh5h6c.

Clermont checks, Squires bets 20k, Clermont calls.

Turn:Kh

Clermont checks, Squires bets 25k and Clermont tanks before check-raising to 60k.

Squires moves all-in for 125k total and Clermont snap calls.

Clermont’s nut flush has Squires drawing dead and scoops the 300k chip pot and is up to 430k.

“I can’t play any more nitty then while I’m stacking chips,” says Clermont, who can’t believe how good he’s running.

This is the last level of the night and Clermont is poised to bag and tag the overall tournament chip lead.
