The 2024 Signature Poker Series was a little different for us. It was a three-week schedule with 21 events over 21 days in the Poker Room, and we set some records along the way.
Events: 21
Entries: 5,720
Guarantees: $1,470,000
Prize Pools: $3,145,925
This series was the biggest we’ve ever hosted in the Poker Room, all four of those numbers set a new mark for running a big series in our room that features comfier chairs and sports on the many televisions within sight.
Of those 21 trophy events, eight were multi-flight tournaments that created some big prize pools. Those winners included Kevin Carnevale ($400 NLH), Charles Campos ($250 NLH), Clyde Maliauka ($1K NLH), Rodney Turvin ($700 NLH), Anthony Whatley ($130 NLH), and Dion Jagroo ($400 PLO).
But the headliner among those tournaments was the $2,500 SPS Championship. It drew 304 entries over two starting flights, turned the $500K guarantee into a $684,000 prize pool, and Tampa favorite James Kerr took the title, his fourth Tamp win, and banked $111,294.
Something else new in this series was the SPS Leaderboard. Players earned points in 20 of the 21 trophy events (the $400 Seniors 50+ was not included), and it was an exciting race down to the very last day.
Pritpal Virdee held on to the top spot on the SPS Leaderboard to win the 2024 Dengo Rover XL golf cart despite late runs by Riley Price and Clyde Maliauka. Virdee cashed four times in the series, and all four produced final table results. Two of them were in some of the biggest events on the schedule.
We cannot thank our players enough for their support and turnout during the entire series, both our local friends and those who traveled to play. We could not do it without you, and we appreciate you.
Below are the results for each event in the series. We look forward to seeing everyone in two weeks for the 2024 Pinktober Poker Open.
