Seminole Hard Rock Poker ambassador Mike Laake — who also happens to be seated next to Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah — did the dirty work on the Event 7 money bubble. A few hands after he and another player chopped a pot that saw a third player in the hand hit the rail, Laake peeked down at . Another player at the table got the last of his 202,000 chips in with and it was a race.
The board ran out and Laake’s pair was best. The hand busted an unknown player 64th leaving the remaining 63 in the money. They are now on their first 15-minute break of the day.

Daniel Ramirez, who was part of a six-way ICM chop in the series-opening re-entry event, is on another heater here in Event 7. Yet again, Ramirez has made his way through the majority of the field and finds himself in position for a deep run into the money.
Ramirez began the day 10th in the counts with 253,500 and has chipped up well on Day 2. We approached the table to find Ramirez in the small blind and playing a heads-up pot against the big blind. The board was and Ramirez’s opponent was in the tank after Ramirez shoved for 214,500. Following some playful banter, the opponent folded. Ramirez showed him the and took a healthy pot.
Ramirez now holds 390,000 with 71 players remaining.

It took just about two levels, but start-of-day chip leader Chris Mitchell is firmly in his seat and back in action here on Day 2 of Event 7. Mitchell is just over an hour behind schedule and in the meantime relinquished his chip lead to Tom Nguyen who holds 615,000.

Jesse Fulmer was late to the party as he didn’t take his seat until just a few minutes ago midway through Level 16. Fulmer lead the 22 advancers from Friday’s Flight D and began today’s play seventh in the counts.
One other notable absence from the tournament thus far is that of chip leader Chris Mitchell. Mitchell’s starting table broke earlier today and his unopened bag now sits at Table 47 waiting for its owner.

Victoria Moser, the only player in the field to bag, re-enter and advance a better stack, began Day 2 sixth in chips and now contends for the chip lead. She recently opened to 12,000 from early position and called a late-position players’ three-bet all in. Moser held and was flipping against her opponent’s .
The flop and turn came dry, but Moser spiked a jack on the river to bust her opponent. With the elimination, tournament staff is breaking the second table of the day as 120 players remain.
Moser is in contention for the chip lead with 395,000.

Day 2 of Event 7, a $560 deep stack no limit hold’em tournament, is underway with 132 remaining from 634 starting. Just one player, chip leader Chris Mitchell, is over 400,000. Mitchell bagged last night’s sixth and final starting flight with a monster stack of 405,000 and sets the pace with the money bubble right around the corner.
Others in contention include Timothy Miles (220,500), Michael Laake (207,500) and Austin Buchanan (116,000).
Only the top 63 players finish in the money with a min-cash worth $1,072. The tournament’s winner, meanwhile, heads home with $74,718 as well as a $1,650 Winter Poker Open Championship seat.
