Brett Bader topped the field in Event 26 here in Tampa to take home the top prize worth $60,440 along with the WPT Trophy. Here is what he had to say after taking home the trophy tonight: “It feels pretty good. I got super lucky there at the end, I got it in with two outs and drilled a six against two kings. I was short today, and things just went my way.”

“I chipped up really quick early on, and then at the final table I was short the whole time. And then I just started running good when we got five-handed. Two guys had three big blinds, and I only had 12 big blinds, and the chip leaders had like 35 each. I just waited for the short stacks to bust, and then I ran it up three-handed when I was the shortest stack. I guess things just went my way,” replied Bader when he was asked about his journey through the final day of the tournament.”

When he was asked about plans to celebrate and his experience at the Tampa property, Bader said, “I think I’m just going to drive back (to South Florida), get some food, and then celebrate tomorrow. I like that the pool is right next to the poker tournament, which is great, get some sunlight, and it’s great here,” said Bader.

Event 26 came back for Day 2 with 18 players remaining and they cut that in half to form the nine-handed final table. Claudio Piedrabuena continues to lead with Raminder Singh looking for his third trophy of the series and Ken Fishman his second.

The two-day $1,700 buy-in Event 26 field filled in nicely and the tournament nearly tripled its $75,000 guarantee. They played down through 15 levels yesterday and 18 players return this afternoon at 1 pm in the money and trying to take the $60K top prize.

Claudio Piedrabuena leads the way back but his tough competition includes Raminder Singh going for his third trophy of the series, and Ken Fishman going for his second.

Day 1 has come to a close in Event 26, and Claudio Piedrabuena was the chip leader at the end of play with a stack of 412,000. The top 18 players advanced from a field of 146, and they will return at 1 pm on Monday to play down to a champion. Play will resume at the start of Level 16, and the button will be in Seat 2.
