John Gallaher won the last WPT Trophy of the night along with $28,610 in prize money as the champion of Event 29 to bring a late night in the tournament series to an end. Here is what he had to say after the victory.

“This is my very first WPT, and I love it. I bagged in the Main, got 200th, didn’t cash, but I loved it. There was a great structure, I loved the payouts. “I’ve enjoyed this whole stop, it’s well run. ” said Gallaher.

“It’s a very nice casino, I’m still trying to figure out my way around the casino. I love that they do several different events besides just the big ones, because that’s nice to have some opportunities to play,” said Gallaher about his overall experience at the property here in Tampa.

“My girlfriend and I have reservations at Bern’s Steakhouse tomorrow night, which is the top steakhouse maybe in the country, or close to it. I have the day off tomorrow, and we’re going to a nice steakhouse dinner, so that will be a nice way to celebrate,” said Gallaher. He booked the steakhouse before the tournament began, so he kind of called his shot with the celebratory dinner.

We have two huge tournaments kicking off at 2 pm in the Event Center this afternoon. Event 29 is a $1,100 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament with a $50,000 guarantee and one-day structure. This will play out this afternoon alongside the $10K High Roller.

Event 29 players will start with 20K stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 6:55 pm following the 40-minute dinner break.

They will play down into the winner later this evening, one of the last WPT trophy winners of the series.
