Marsha Wolak
Marsha Wolak

Marsha Wolak (Fort Lauderdale, FL) turns a pocket 2s into the chip lead as she’s up to 80k.

Wolak calls an UTG raise from Gabriel Tudorache (Reddick, FL) in the SB and the BB comes along.

The flop is K-3-2, Tudorache leads, Wolak raises, the BB calls and Tudorache folds.

The turn is a 9 that puts a flush on board, Wolak bets and the BB calls.

The river is another King, Wolak moves all in for nearly 40k and her opponent calls with K6.

“I knew he had a king,” says Wolak who gets the knockout with deuces full of Kings.

Tudorache says he folded pocket Aces after the flop and Wolak says, “I believe him.”

Tony Tran (Savannah, GA) has also chipped up and is at 70k.

Fish Jumps into the Frying Pan

South Florida pro Darryll Fish (Fort Lauderdale, FL) joins the field and doesn’t have an easy draw. The table features John Pappas (Tampa, FL), runner-up in Event 7 ($250 buy-in) for nearly $8,000 earlier this week, and Filipp Khavin (Treasure Island, FL) who won the Deep Stack Turbo here in June.

Fish returns to Tampa where he finished 2nd in 2011 for nearly $80,000. He was runner-up to Dan Clemente (Hernando, MS) in the WPT Regional stop at Hard Rock.

“I haven’t had a home base in awhile,” says Fish, “I consider Earth my home, but if I have to represent one place it’s Fort Lauderdale.”

Fish has more than $1.4 million in career tournament earnings and says he’s recently been playing a lot of cash games including last night’s high stakes game in the Poker Room.
