End of Level 8: Blinds 300/600/75 ante

Eight levels are in the books and the remaining players are off on a 45-minute dinner break.  Play will resume at about 6:35.

The indecisive ones out there have until play resumes to decide if they want to late-register or re-enter this flight.  Once level 9 begins, registration will close for this flight.

There are still two more starting flights, beginning at 11am Friday and Saturday, so still plenty of opportunity to get into the action.

Before the blinds went up, Martin Welch pulled off a bluff at tough table.

After an early position player limped, and another limped from the hijack, Tony March (cutoff) and Darryll Fish (button) also limped.

Martin was in the small blind and tossed in two gray chips (10k) making it 10,250 to go.  Michael Laake surrendered his big blind and then one by one, the others tossed their cards in the muck.

As the dealer was pushing the pot to Martin, he showed his 5h3d.  Martin’s up to about 58k.

Martin won the Seniors event here last December in a five-way chop for $3,905 and a seat in the Championship.

Charlie Bell (Deland, FL) says he cruised through yesterday’s 11 am satellite to earn his seat into the Championship Event.

“I had a lot of chips,” he says. Bell was part of the Event 1 chop taking home $17,172.

The next satellites are today at 3 pm and 6 pm and you can find full details here.

The Poker Room is also running single table sattys. The tournaments are going as soon as the lists of interest fills up.
