RECAP

“It feels very good to be able to repeat and defend my title,” said semi-professional poker player Bryan Scofield.  He just pulled off a repeat victory, winning the same event he won here during the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Summer Poker Open.  Today’s victory earned him $4,408, the $1,650 seat in the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Winter Poker Open Championship, and the signature trophy guitar.

After busting Archie Workman in 11th place, Bryan Scofield went on a rush and built a big stack while mowing down the competition.  He eliminated the 6th, 5th, & 4th place finishers, then after Mauro took out 3rd place, they decided to chop up the rest between them.

This event drew 53 players for a total prize pool of $13,250.   The final six players got paid.  Although billed as a two-day event, they finished it up in under 12 hours.

Even with back-to-back victories in Omaha High/Low, Scofield doesn’t consider it his best game, preferring No Limit Hold’em.  He’s been playing tournaments for about six years and these are his only two wins on record.  He would like to see more Omaha High/Low events on tournament schedules.

FINAL RESULTS

1: Bryan Scofield (Tampa, FL) $4,408
2: Mauro (Tampa, FL) $2,703
3: Michael Tadlock Bushnell, FL) $1,752

Bryan Scofield (button) raised and Michael Tadlock (sb) thought about it, the re-raised all-in for 26k.  Mauro (bb) and Bryan both called.

They checked the flop of JhJd6d and continued to check when the 7h came on the turn.  When the 6h hit the river, Mauro bet and Bryan folded.

Mauro showed K J 8 5 for trip Jacks.  Michael had Q Q T 7 and could only make two pair.

Michael Tadlock (Bushnell, FL)  busted in 3rd place earning $1,752.
