RECAP

Alan Ramkhalawan, a local pharmacist, won his first Seminole Hard Rock Tampa major event title today after agreeing to a heads-up chop with Craig Jenkins.  Ramkhalawan was the chip leader when they got heads-up after about eight and a half hours of play.

Despite his amateur status, Ramkhalawan has more than $147,000 in reported tournament earnings over the last eight years that he’s been playing.  The biggest portion of which came from a 3rd place finish one year ago in the WSOP Circuit Championship event in New Orleans ($79,356).

The final event of the 2015 Spring Deep Stack Series was a one-day Turbo NLH event carrying a $15,000 guarantee on the prize pool.  Players came out in force for this final event, producing a total of 172 entries and pushing the prize pool over the $20,000 mark, to $20,640.  The final 18 players earned a piece of the pie.

Second place went to Craig Jenkins, another local who tweeted after it was over that he was finally ‘unstuck for the year’.   Linda Strope was the last woman in this event, finishing 3rd.  Also of note was perennial favorite and regular on the felt Wally Maddah, who booked his third cash of the series, finishing 18th for $310.
