After leading Day 2 of Event 1, a $350 deep stack no limit hold’em re-entry tournament, Anthony Dianaty got little traction late and went on to finish 22nd. With that performance in the past, he’s back in the re-entry action here in Event 4. He’s one of the tournament’s newest entries and sits with about starting stack early in Flight C.

Woodrow Pass (Seffner, FL)

We definitely didn’t see the same level of activity in the second flight that we saw in the first. There were still 23 players remaining at the end from the starting 119 which also meant we didn’t have the same number of big stacks.

Woodrow Pass is your end-of-flight leader with 149,100 and Phil Sheffield is a close second with 145,700. Former leaders Cheri Beatty and Richard Thai made it through along with Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah.

They will join players from the other three flights with blinds at 1,200/2,400 and a 300 ante.

Event 4 Day 1B: One Level to Go

$150 Big Stack No Limit Holdem (Re-Entry)
Level 12: 800/1,600/200 Ante

We are into the last level of the day with a very healthy 26 players remaining. No where near the carnage of the first flight.

They have 30 minutes left to push their stacks higher or at least put something in a bag for Day 2. Players can always come back tomorrow and try to finish bigger to leave this one behind.

Event 4 Day 1B: New Big Stack in Town

$150 Big Stack No Limit Holdem (Re-Entry)
Level 9: 500/1,000/100 Ante

Karl Manouchakian (Tampa, FL)
Karl Manouchakian (Tampa, FL)

We weren’t seeing big stack swings in the first parts of the flight but we had a big one after the last break. Karl Manouchakian not only became the first player over the 100,000 mark, he eclipsed the 200,00 point in one big hand.

It all began with someone who limped with Aces and got caught. Manouchakian flopped trip Nines with his 9x2x but still had to deal with another opponent who was outkicking him with 9x5x. There was a good chance for those two to chop up the Aces until Manouchakian hit the Deuce turn for a boat.

The hand moved him up to 202,000 and a good head start with a few more levels remaining.

Event 4 Day 1B: Two New Leaders

$150 Big Stack No Limit Holdem (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 600/1,200/200 Ante

Praveen Challagundla (Dunedin, FL)
Praveen Challagundla (Dunedin, FL)

Players returned from the second/last break of the day and registration is closed for this flight. The evening session drew 119 runners to get us more than halfway to the $50,000 guarantee with two more big flights to go.

Richard Thai and Cheri Beatty are among the 44 still around tonight but we have two new names leading the way. Praveen Challagundla has the big stack in the room at 83,200 but Jeff Hayes isn’t far behind with 76,900.

The field has four more levels to run up their stack. Even if they bag a small amount, they can play either or both of the next two flights and take their best stack to Day 2 on Wednesday.
