Event 1: Megalodon Chomps Kings

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 11: Blinds 800/1,600/200 ante

Adam ‘megalodon’ Santos was down to his last 10,200 when they went in the pot on a board of 7c5d3d8h.  Freddie Kirkland called, showing pocket Kings.

“Megalodon not dead!” Adam said as he tabled his 9s6c for the straight.  The river was a meaningless 5h and Adam chipped up to about 50k as he continues to crack big pocket pairs.

Level 10:  Blinds 500/1,000/100 ante

Jeff Trudeau (Orlando, FL) busted out and re-entered before registration closed, so he’s back in action.

He made his mark down in Hollywood with three cashes and two final tables during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open.  He finished 3rd in the Omaha High/Low event, 6th in the Six Max, and also cashed in the $500,000 Guaranteed opener.  His career earnings are over $146,000!

Event 1: Registration Closed for Flight B

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 9:  Blinds 500/1,000/100 ante

Players are back from their break and the green 25 chips have been colored up and removed from play.

On the last hand before the break,  the under-the-gun player got all-in on the turn holding pocket Aces with the board showing 6 4 4 3.   He had the misfortune of running into Adam ‘megalodon’ Santos’ big-blind special 8s4s for trips.

Only an Ace on the river would save the unfortunate player, but it was a King and no help.  He headed for the door — not sure if he re-entered or not.

Adam chipped up to about 95k with that pot.

Registration for Flight B is now closed and the clock shows 83 entries, which is unofficial until verified by the house.

Event 1: Davis Up, Then Down

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 8:  Blinds 400/800/75 ante

Adam Davis and the player on his left got to the river with a board of Js7s2h4h2c and his opponent jammed for his last ~14k.

Adam tanked for a minute, then made the call showing JcTs for Jacks-up.  His opponent tossed his 9h7d on the felt as he rose and walked away.

Adam chipped up to about 55k, but then called another river bet in which he was not ahead and gave away the chips he had just acquired.

Another Tampa-area grinder who made an appearance at the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” is Sterling Savill. He finished 12th in the $1,650 Purple Chip Bounty NL event in Hollywood a few days ago, bringing his career earnings to over $230,000.

And of course he’s back on the felt here tonight as the early chip leader.  He’s up to about 110k and well ahead of the field.

He’s also enjoying a table-side massage from Nicola.  As he works his magic on the felt, she works her magic on his shoulder.

Event 1: Another One Bites the Dust

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 6:  Blinds 200/400/50 ante

Adam Davis
Adam Davis

The player in seat 5 (utg+1) moved in for his last 1,825 (< 5 big blinds) and got flat-called by Adam Davis (Lakewood Ranch, FL) and the player in seat 1 on the button.

After the flop fell 5h5s4s Adam tossed in one gray chip for a bet of 5,000 and the player on the button folded.

The all-in player had put his tournament life on the line with Td8c and was crushed by Adam’s AsAd.

The last two cards came 3sJs improving Adam’s hand to the nut flush for the over-kill.  Seat 4 headed out and Adam added his chips to an already impressive stack.  He’s up to about 50k, two and a half times the starting stack of 20k.

Hard Rock Calendar Girl Aimee must have been good luck for Robert Rosetta (Tampa, FL) who after poising with Ms. February bagged the Day 1A chip lead.

“I got luck for a big pot,” says Rosetta, a Seminole Hard Rock Tampa regular. “I hit a 10-outer. I didn’t think he had much, but he had top pair and I had a pair with a double-belly buster.”

Rosetta hit his respectable draw and is the big stack with 225,500.
