Event 1: Chris Mo Extends his Chip Lead

There was over 800,000 in the pot, and the flop read 10d9d7c when the big blind moved all in for 410,000. UTG got out of the way before Chris Mo reraised all in for a little under 2 million from the hijack, and the cutoff called all in as well. All three players then flipped over their cards.

Chris Mo opened to 45,000 and saw an opponent move all in for 310,000. Nicole Diaz called, Mo called, and the flop came 9c2s2d. Diaz moved all in for 200,000 and Mo called with the bigger stack to put both players at risk.

Diaz jumped out of her seat, leading with her queens in the massive pot, and asked for it to hold. The 5s turn was safe, but the two-out Th came on the river to send the pot to Mo while Diaz and their other opponent were eliminated.

There were unconfirmed reports of someone folding a ten, making that the case ten, but a long shot KO either way.

Players returned to their seats after the color up break and we found the big stacks in the room while they were gone. Lucas Tae jumped to the top, quietly building in the back of the Event Center, and leads with 1,350,000.

Daniel Pearlman, Willie Wiggins, and Igor Evseev round out the list of players with over one million with Fred Paradis not far behind them with 955,000. Evseev already owns one of those WPT trophies, taking the spot in Hollywood’s $400 Big Stack during the WPT Poker Showdown.
