Adam Quimby

We kicked off the 2022 WPT Tampa schedule with a huge event, a $400 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament with six starting flights and a $1,000,000 guarantee. After dominating late, Adam Quimby topped the field and took the top spot along with $240,254 after a three-way deal.

The tournament drew 4,363 entries to create a huge prize pool worth $2,268,760. That is our second biggest tournament field in our history and the biggest non-Main Event/Championship prize pool.

We saw 439 players advance to Day 2 in the money with eight players bagging twice to pick up two payouts. The tournament ran late on Day 2 and seven players returned for a Day 3 on Monday.

Quimby had a big lead coming back and only extended it as players quickly dropped. Within an hour back, the three remaining players made a deal to divide up the remaining prize pool with Quimby’s huge lead giving him the lion’s share of the prize pool.

Matt Higgins earned $208,448 for second place, Ashley Spring was third for $150,308 but Quimby took the big prize of $240,254 along with the WPT trophy.

Congrats to Adam and thanks to everyone for the great series kickoff.
