Al Krux

It’s not too often we get two WSOP bracelet winners at one table in our $400 Deep Stacks but it happened today. Thanks to the RNG table draw, both Al Krux and Chris Tryba began their day seated across from each other.

Krux won the $1,500 Pot Limit Hold’em bracelet in 1996 (when that game was a thing) and Tryba won the Mixed Limit/No Limit Hold’em title in 2012. In addition to those accomplishments, Tryba also owns two WSOP Circuit rings and Krux made the WSOP Main Event final table in 2004 (the Greg Raymer year).

Event 1: Sam Disha Hits with the Hammer

$400 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 17: 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 ante

Sam Disha

Matt Lea opened the action from under the gun and it folded to Sam Disha in the big blind. He flashed the mighty hammer (seven-deuce offsuit), moved all in for 55,000 and Lea snapped a call.

Lea: KdKs
Disha: 7d2c

An easy call for Lea, he improved to a set of kings on the AcKc9c flop, but Disha picked up a club draw. The 4c turn finished the flush, the table went a little crazy, and Disha had a double up after the 8h.

They had a laugh, Disha stayed out of the payout line, and Lea was still doing just fun with 35 bigs.

Sam Disha – 125,000 (12.5 bb)
Matt Lea – 350,000 (35 bb)

Joey Zahn leads the return with more than one million out front, a small correction to a misunderstood typo. He has a ton of chips to start the day.
