Angel Vu

Two more familiar faces in today’s big crowd have some big results at the various Seminole Hard Rock Poker properties around the state. Both Angel Vu and Ory Hen are former Seminole Hard Rock Poker Players of the Year and they are here with us today.

Vu was the first-ever SHRP POY when she won the title back in 2014. Hen followed her in 2015 and locked up his POY with a couple Hollywood wins.

The current SHRP Player of the Year race is being led by Tampa Pinktober Main Event champion David Nathaniel Jr. The next POY point-qualifying tournament will be the $1,000,000 guarantee WSOP Circuit Main Event next week.

Femi Fashakin

With the size of today’s crowd, it’s no surprise we are seeing a bunch of players from around the state and country. The drive is only a couple hours from the east coast and we found Femi Fashakin and Jeff Charlton make the trek.

Charlton earned his first big score when he won a WSOP Circuit H.O.R.S.E. ring in 2015. Fashakin made a big splash this summer when the South Florida reg won the 2019 WSOP Big 50 tournament, the biggest field in the series history, and he earned $1,147,449 after beating out $28,371 others.

Event 1 Flight C: Quick to the Money

$600 Double Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 20:  5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 ante
Flight C Players Remaining:  78 of 518

Edwards Muñiz

Flight C is no longer playing slow. The field dropped under 100 and never hit a speed bump on its way to the money. Tournament staff were breaking a table to officially put the field at 81 players but there were multiple all-ins already at other tables.

They stopped the action, broke the table, and counted heads. Flight C was right at 78 players remaining with two players waiting to see if they’d split a min-cash. Since it was on the dot, they were out on the bubble and the rest of the field was in the money.

Edwards Muñiz is the latest big stack. The reigning WPTDeepStacks Hollywood champ has spun his stack over 800,000 and in contention for the overall Day 2 lead.

Event 1 Flight C: Getting Closer

$600 Double Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 19:  4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 ante
Flight C Players Remaining:  99 of 518

Filipp Khavin

Flight C is creeping down toward its money bubble and the field is under triple digits since the day started. Only 99 remain, 78 will get paid, and 52 will advance to Day 2.

Tampa regular and WPTDeepStacks champ Filipp Khavin is one of the big stacks heading towards the money and he will be dangerous with his 359,000 to push around.
