Nathaniel Palombo

With the flop reading Ac6h5c and 7,500 already in the pot, Nathaniel Palombo checked on the button and his opponent bet 13,500. Palombo pulled a check-raise all in for 23,600 which prompted his opponent to stand up from his chair.

After talking and thinking it through, Palomob got the call he wanted.

Palombo: 5d5h
Opponent: AdKs

Both players hit the flop but Palombo’s bottom set had a virtual lock on the hand against top pair/top kicker. The 4s turn left his opponent drawing dead to the 3s river and Palombo moved up to 54,700.

Anthony Dianaty

We had another handful of entries jump into the Main Event to hit a 70 spot on the tournament board. With a full Friday and Saturday left to go, this is a nice start.

Anthony Dianaty and John O’Neal are in today’s field and both have some nice results here. Dianaty is one min-cash away from pushing his career earnings over $300,000 while O’Neal made two big Tampa final tables; seventh place in the 2016 Winter Poker Open Championship and eighth place in the 2018 WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event.

There are several stacks not far behind so he’ll some competition with 11 more levels to go today.

The clock is ticking down in Level 3 and players will soon take their first break of the day. There are 60 entries so far with a lot of time to push it higher.

While they are away, we will take our first opportunity to see who ran up an early stack in the Main Event.

Peter Walsworth

The blinds are up and the entry count hit an even 50 before noon for a good start to the day. We expect more to join (or rejoin if needed) before registration closed more than six hours from now.

Peter Walsworth wasted no time getting in his seat. The Tampa regular has more than $1,000,000 in career earnings including a nice win here in the August Deep Stack tournament. Walsworth has a couple six-digit scores on the east coast at our sister room in Hollywood and he made the Event 4 final table two days ago.

Woodrow Pass

The seats are filling in nicely while the morning moves into the afternoon. Players are waking up, getting to the poker room, and getting into the action.

Woodrow Pass was here early and working up his stack. The SHR Tampa regular had a nice September at these tables with five cashes, four final table and two wins. One of those final tables was a second place finish and another for third place.

Pass picked up one of his four guitar trophies last October when he won the Triple Stack Pinktober Poker Open tournament.

Main Event: Guaranteeing $300,000

The preliminaries are over and that means it is time to roll out the Pinktober Poker Open headline. The $1,100 buy-in Main Event starts on Thursday with the first of three starting flights as it builds toward its $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Each starting flight will play 14 levels before survivors bag up for Day 2 on Sunday. Since this is a “best stack forward” tournament, players have the opportunity to fire as many of the flights as they wish and play their biggest stack should they bag up more than once.

Cards go in the air at 11 am on Thursday morning with Flight B at the same time on Friday and Flight C on Saturday.
