Bud Waggoner took the lead near the end of the day and extended it over the last two levels. He put 445,000 in his bag for the Day 2 return on Sunday followed by Justin Jones (386,000), and Talesh Patel (372,000).

Flight B kicks off tomorrow at 11 am with the last flight on Saturday at the same time.

Level 14 is here and the last chance for players to spin up a big bag for Day 2. They only lost two players since the break but there are some short stacks trying to stick around.

We have a lot of hotshot young, tough players remaining in the field, but it is old school leading the way. Bud Waggoner sits at the top of the counts with 345,000 and can’t be bothered with some shenanigans from the other players, he keeps stacking.

Clayton Mullinax’s 322,000 and Bo Gray’s 318,000 round out the list of those over 300K with Justin Jones nearing that mark with 271,000.

Flight A is about ready to take its last break of the day when Level 12 come to an end. Tournament staff will pull the purple chips out of play and they will return for two more levels before calling it a day.

Flight A is quickly down to the last four tables of the day as some tough players took some tough beats. Perhaps none as hard as Terri-Anne Crawford when she got her stack in the middle with against Justin Jones’s only for a ten to hit the flop to sent her out late.

Angela Jordison was also a recent elimination, going out against Dion Jagroo who stacked up to 239,000.

Registration closed for Flight A of the 2022 Tampa Winter Poker Open Championship with 95 entries and a big weekend coming up. Flight B starts tomorrow at 11 am with Flight C on Saturday at the same time.

Flight A will play through 14 full levels and survivors will bag their chips for a Day 2 return on Sunday at noon.
