Flight 1 Ends Early

$155 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level  12: Blinds 800/1,600/200 ante

With 15 players remaining, it was the ‘end of the flight bubble’ as the next bust-out would signal the end of play.

Rob WentworthRob Wentworth, (pictured) vacationing here from Amherst, NH, put his stack of chips in, leaving just 400 behind.  The player in seat 1 said “call” and they turned up their hands as if all-in.  Rob held pocket Tens and seat 1 had AK.

The floor verified that Rob was not yet all-in, so action would proceed after the flop, which came A 9 6, giving seat 1 the lead with a pair of Aces.  To everyone’s surprise, Rob tossed his last 400 chips in and was, of course, called.

Then an even bigger surprise — the turn was a Ten! Rob took the lead with a set and the river bricked, so Rob doubled up.

Soon after another short-stack was all-in and busted, so the final 14 bagged their chips for the night.

Chip counts will be posted shortly.
