There was some real commotion on Table 38 as Daniel Ramirez spiked a gutshot to eliminate a player and take the far-and-awaychip lead.

“Just write suckout,” a tablemate laughed as media staff approached the table.

According to the players’ recap, Ramirez opened and a lone opponent three bet to about 30,000. Ramirez called and the flop came 7-8-3 with two spades. Ramirez checked and the opponent bet. Ramirez raised, and here’s where it gets fuzzy. The opponent shoved for an unknown amount. Ramirez swears it was in the 40,000 range, but the table says it was “way” more than that. Either way, Ramirez called, spiked a six to hit his gutshot and bust the opponent.

“It was standard, man,” Ramirez laughed.

Ramirez now holds 830,000 chips good for 138 big blinds.
