Event 1: Shots For Table 11

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 5:  Blinds 150/300/25 ante

Table 11 didn’t need any help perking up, but with the addition of Adam ‘megalodon’ Santos, it has gotten even more rowdy.

“Look at all these sharks,” Adam said, pointing to his tablemates Peter Walsworth, Filip Khavin, Joe Gibbons, and Jeff Trudeau.

Joe and Adam got to the turn on a board of Ts5d2dTh.  Joe asked what Adam had left and it was just two gray chips (10k).  Adam kept trying to put them in the pot and the dealer kept pushing them back since the action was on Joe.

“Ok, I check” Joe said and then Adam pushed his last 10k out.  “You’ve got hooks,” Joe said.  “I’ve got one hook and you’ve got a flush draw, so I’m ahead,” Adam replied.

The table had ordered a round of 1800 tequila shots and the server was delivering them during this hand.  Joe told the table he was going to wait to make his decision until after he did his shot.  Nine players raised their glasses (Adam does not drink, so he abstained) and downed their shots.  Joe put his empty glass on the table and said “Call!” as the threw down his Kd9d.

True to his word, Adam tabled JcTc for trip Tens with one hook.  “Diamond!” called Joe.  Sure enough the river delivered the 4d and once again the table erupted.  Adam was busted — not sure if he’s planning to re-enter.

Event 1: Tough Table

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 4:  Blinds 100/200

Table 11

Table 11 has turned into a monster with regulars Natasha Barbour, Peter Walsworth, Filip Khavin, Joe Gibbons, and Jeff Trudeau.

In the previous level, Joe and Natasha got to the river with a board of AhKs3d2cAs.  Joe bet 3,500 and Natasha raised to 13,500.

Joe tanked for a minute, then asked Natasha if she would show her hand if he folded.  She agreed and Joe folded pocket 4s.  Natasha showed Tc4c for squa-doosh as she collected the pot.

Seemingly on tilt, Joe shoved his last ~10k on the next hand, over the top of Peter’s opening raise.  Peter called, showing pocket Queens.  Joe had Ts9s.

“Watch this,” Joe said, and when the flop came 8s7h6d giving him a straight, the table erupted.  After the 4d and 5d completed the board, Joe collected his double-up and the rest of the table went back to trying to get their drink orders in.

Event 1: Hope Cracks Kings

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 2:  Blinds 50/100

Richard Hope
Richard Hope

Richard Hope (Dade City, FL) is a staple here in the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa and he’s back on the felt today in Flight F.

Before the blinds went up, he tangled with the utg player in seat 8.  On the flop of Jh9d3c seat 8 checked, Richard bet, and got the call.  Turn was the 3h and again it went check, bet call.

River was the 2s and the action was the same.  Seat 8 showed pocket Kings, but he was beat by Richard’s pocket Jacks, which had flopped a set.

Event 1: Last Chance Flight F

The sixth and final flight of Event 1 is underway!  This is your last chance for a shot at a share of the $150,000 Guaranteed prize pool.  The guarantee has already been more than covered, so the rest is gravy!

Players get 20,000 chips to start and levels are 30 minutes long on Day 1.  They’ll play 14 levels, then bag up for the night.

Late registration and re-entry are available until the start of level 9 (about 10:30pm).

Event 1: Cardin Busted On Last Hand

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 14: Blinds 1,500/3,000/400 ante

After Julio Novo limped from early position, Barbara Cardin shoved for 45k from the button.  After giving it a little thought, Julio called, showing QcTc.  Barbara was racing with pocket 8s.

The board was not good for the last woman remaining in this flight.  The community cards rolled out QhTs7c4sKc and sent the pot to Julio, while sending Barbara home without any chips to bag.

Thirteen players remain and are bagging their chips for the night.  Counts will be posted shortly.

Event 1: Trizis Takes a Bite Out of Novo

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 14: Blinds 1,500/3,000/400 ante

Julio Novo is the chip leader as they come down the home stretch in Flight D.

Steve Trizis is on his right and opened for 15k on the button, getting calls from Julio in the small blind and Dugg Hadden in middle position.

The flop fell KcJs4c and it was checked to Steve who tossed in a bet of 20k.  Julio called and Dugg folded.

Turn was the 3c and both players remaining in the pot checked to see the 3h hit the river.  Julio led out for 10k and Steve called, showing AdKd.  Julio mucked as Steve said “What did you think I was raising with?”

14 players remain with just half a level left to play.
