Alex Alvarez won Event 23 tonight in Tampa with his wife at his side after the final six players decided to end the tournament in a chop. Here is what he had to say after the victory: “It’s great, I’ve been coming here five times before, and this is the second time I’ve made it to the final.”

“I was hot from the beginning, I was hitting everything. When we got to the last 99 I was just going up and down, and that was how it went until we got to the last table,” said Alvarez when he was asked about his journey through the tournament today.

“I’ve got five days where I don’t have to work, so I will be here playing in the tournaments. Whatever is open tomorrow, I will hop in to play,” said Alvarez about his plans for the rest of the tournament series.

“It’s the nearest casino to where I live in Orlando, so I love coming up here, and I go down to Hollywood too, and I like both, I really like both,” said Alvarez when he was asked about what keeps bringing him back to the Seminole properties here in Florida.
