Ramses Rosa
Ramses Rosa

The final table played nearly an entire level, with mostly short stacks, before we had our first elimination. Ramses Rosa found a double up in one hand and then went out on the next.

It was a five-way limped pot when Rosa put in his last 50,000 after the Ts7d5s flop with middle pair, ton of draws Js8d7h6s. AJ Santos called with top pair JhTh9c6h and managed to dodge Rosa’s outs on the Qd turn and 3c to knock him out with one pair.

Event 5: Bubble Burst

$250 Pot-Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Level 12: 1,500/3,000

AJ Santos and Wally Maddah
“Wait, I want a picture with the Ambassador!” Santos after the bubble

It took longer than anticipated to get there, but the PLO event is now in the money. They returned from dinner and immediately lost one player to hit hand-for-hand action.

That lasted eight hands before we had an all-in called. The shove was for only 6,500 and two players called including AJ “Doc” Santos. The live players checked down the 4h2s2d8d7s board and Santos tabled AhJc8s6s against Jh9d7c4c for the better two pair.

The hand put the last 18 players in the money and tournament staff are redrawing the final two tables.

John Holley, Wally Maddah, and AJ Santos are also still in the hunt for the title.

Event 5: Having Fun in PLO

$250 Pot-Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 800/1,600

Pot Limit Omaha is never boring, many consider it four card bingo with plenty of gamble, but one table is having a really good time. We took a look at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah’s table and found Adamastor aka AJ aka Doc Santos rarely in his seat.

You can always tell when the popular PLO cash grinder is in an event, the noise attracts your attention. Santos is blasting away at the PLO tournament, catching cards, and bleeding the chips right back.

The tournament drew 103 entrants but they are already down to 34 remaining and no slowing in sight.
