Level 6:  300/600 with a 600 ante
Day 1B Entries:  63

Tony March

Event 5 employs a “best stack forward” rule which allows players to bag Flight A and try again in Flight B. If they manage to make it both days, they will receive a min-cash for the smallest bag and play their bigger stack tomorrow for Day 2.

We had five players advance yesterday and Tony March was one of them. Not satisfied with his 93,500 stack for Day 2, he is back this afternoon trying to spin it up and make some more money for his Pay It Backward Foundation.

Event 5 Day 1A: Jack Ranallo Bursts the Bubble; Bags Big

$600 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 15:  2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining:  8 of 49

Jack Ranallo

With six players remaining and five advancing, it took a little time to get in the money. They made it most of the way through Level 15 with a few all-ins but no calls.

Then there was a three-way pot with the board reading JcJs7s. Jack Ranallo checked from the small blind, Joseph Parris bet 17,000 from the cutoff, the button called, and Jack Ranallo check/raised to 50,000. Parrish called, the button moved all in for 174,000 total and Ranallo called.

Ranallo: QsJh
Button: JdTs

Both flopped trip jacks but the button had kicker issues with his ten. The 2h turn and 5h river finished the board to put the last five players in the money and on to Day 2.

Flight A counts:

  1. Jack Ranallo – 638,500
  2. Karl Manouchakain – 395,500
  3. Joseph Parrish – 226,500
  4. Walt Rossi – 116,000
  5. Tony March – 93,500

Flight B kicks off tomorrow at 11 am with late registration available until 3:30 pm.

Event 1 Day 1A: Back from Break

$600 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 13:  1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 ante
Players Remaining:  8 of 49

Jack Ranallo

Cards are back in the air after (what should be) the last break of the day. We have eight players remaining, five advancing, and Jack Ranallo way out front.

He sits with 572,000 in his stack, good enough for 39% of the 1,470,000 chips in play today.

Event 5 Day 1A: “Final” Table

$600 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining:  9 of 49

Flight A made it down to the “final” table of the day, not the final final table of the tournament but the last nine players trying to advance to Day 2. Six of these players will be disappointed while five of them move on.

Jack Ranallo seems to be running over the competition. He has nearly a quarter of the chips in the play to leave a lot of short stacks.

Event 5 Day 1A: Cruising Along

$600 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining:  11 of 49

The field is getting shorter but showing no signs of slowing down yet. There are 11 players remaining with only five of them making the money and Day 2. Jack Ranallo continues to build his chip lead with some tough players still here including Karl Manouchakian, Ryan Hogan, and Tony March.

Event 5 Day 1A: Jack Ranallo Leads

$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 10:  800/1,600 with a 1,600 ante
Players Remaining:  19 of 49

Jack Ranallo

Flight A quickly dropped down to the last three tables after registration closed and they aren’t far from making it two tables. There’s still a lot of work ahead of them with only five advancing but they are getting there.

Jack Ranallo leads the middle stages of the day with 178,600 while players are dropping around him.

Event 5 Day 1A: Registration Closed with 49 Entries

$600 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 9:  600/1,200 with a 1,200 ante
Day 1A Entries:  49

Registration closed for Flight A of Pinktober Poker Open with 49 entries putting the tournament more than halfway to its $50,000 guarantee. The second and final flight starts tomorrow at 11 am with late registration available until 3:30 pm.

Flight A will continue into the evening until five players remain. Those players will bag up and return on Friday for Day 2 at noon.
