Event 4 Day 1D: Visiting Gelrod

$150 Big Stack No Limit Holdem (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 600/1,200/200 Ante

We mentioned Marc Kropf after the last break and we found another visitor to the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker room.

Gelrod spends most of his time on the east coast of Florida and made his first trip to our side for the Winter Poker Open. He has a handful of final table appearances at Coconut Creek and Hollywood, now he’s looking for something over here.

The doors are shut on Event 4 and the unofficial number for the final flight is 182. That brings the total count up 546 and clearly over a $60,000 prize pool.

The second break chip leader is Marc Knopf as the only player over 100,000. His 107,500 stands above everyone else with less than 80 players remaining. Knopf made the Event 1 final table in last year’s Winter Poker Open and also holds Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open trophy.

Event 4 Day 1D: Last Level to Register

Flight D is about to hit Level 8 and the last chance for players to get in this big money, small buy-in tournament. The count has reached 170 entrants, making this the biggest flight of the four, with more than 45 minutes to register.

We’ve already cleared a $60,000 prize pool and Event 4 is starting to tease $65,000.

Anthony Dianaty is one of those back in action trying to move a stack forward to tomorrow. He’s fired multiple bullets at this game, including at least one this morning, and trying to duplicate his Day 1 feat in Event 1. He finished that flight on a huge heater to have a clear 200,000 lead heading into the next day.

“The guy can play,” Jeremy Costa let us know.

Flight D has hit the $60,000 prize pool mark with the 136 entrant this evening. There’s going to be some nice money up for grabs tomorrow and everyone is looking to bag up for Day 2.

Carlos Loving is in the gang today and ready to add to his $300,000 in career earnings after he cashed in the Turbo Event 3 a few days ago. He has big results at three of the Seminole properties including a Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open title, Coco Poker Open 3rd place finish for $30,000, and a 4th place finish in the $1,500 buy-in WPT Regional Championship here in 2013.

Event 4 Day 1D: Magal in a Tight Race

$150 Big Stack No Limit Holdem (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300/25 Ante

Martin Magal
Martin Magal is the early Flight D leader

The first break found three stacks which were all tripled up from the starting 15,000. Of the three, Martin Magal had the other two barely clipped with 47,500 at the break.

Not far behind we have Max Young sitting with 46,400 and Tim Harrell with 45,825. They are the three biggest but there’s plenty of time to catch them.

Event 4 Day 1D: Costa Back for More

Jeremy Costa (Kennesaw, GA)

The entrant count jumped over 100 in the second hour of play and we have a chance to hit another milestone before registration closes. If we can match the morning flight entrant count, the prize pool will climb over $60,000.

A very nice number for a $150 buy-in, mid-week tournament.

Jeremy Costa is back in the room looking for some value. He wasn’t sure if he’d play Event 4 but decided to get in when he saw the numbers it was attracting. The pro from Georgia was among our Event 1 leaders for much of the tournament but had to settle for a small cash. Costa is hoping to go even deeper in Event 4 tomorrow.

While the final flight runs for Event 4, we have the combined chips counts from the first three. Douglas Decker bagged the most chips in Flight A and continues to lead after next two.

We didn’t think it would take too long to get there and were proven correct. We climbed over 54 entrants midway through the first level of the final flight to top the $50,000 guaranteed prize pool, every entry now is icing on top.

Players can expect some very nice money tomorrow for a small buy-in. The numbers will continue to climb with late registration ending at 10:30pm.
