The second day of the Tampa Signature Poker Series is here, which means two more flights of the $1,000,000 guarantee opening event. The $400 Deep Stack drew 544 entries over the first two flights and we expect many more as we head into the busy weekend.

Event 1 players start with 30K deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes when they return for Day 2. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm and players may re-enter as often as needed.

Flight C will continue until 10% of the field remains and survivors will return on Sunday at 1 pm in the money.

The final hand of the night saw the bubble girl get all in with pocket sevens, and Roddys Torres (pictured) had her covered holding 9-8 offsuit on a final board that brought two aces on the flop with a brick. The turn and river followed with 8-9 to give Torres the better two-pair, and he sent his opponent to the rail to bring Flight B to a close. Torres bagged up 478,000 to round out the top five in chips. Florida poker professional TK Miles bagged up the most chips with 687,000 to end the night. The PLO final table has been stuck at nine players for a while now, so we took a look around Flight B. Some familiar faces in the field include James Calderaro, AJ Kelsall, Aaron Thivyanathan, and TK Miles. Kelsall just scored a small double up to 56,000 when his pocket eights held against the of Brent Hoover.

A few hands before that Hoover took out his opponent who held under the gun with pocket fours in the hole on a board reading . Hoover was at 181,000 after that hand, but he gave some of that back when Kelsall doubled through him a short time later.

Registration closed for Flight B of SPS Event 1 with 248 entries to keep the great start to the series going late on a Wednesday. Flight C gets underway at 10 am tomorrow and will push the tournament closer to the $1,000,000 guarantee.

Flight B will continue until 29 players remain, and they will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at 1 pm in the money. Players must bag chips to make it into the money.
