Event 1 Flight D: Micha Korber Leads as Registration Closes

$500 Double Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 9:  500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante
Flight D Entries:  702  (Total:  2,082)

Micha Korber

The second break came to an end and tournament staff locked the doors on Flight D with over 700 entries. They will do their math and we will report the official numbers as soon as they are available.

Micha Korber wasn’t at the top of the counts until the last hand of Level 8. His (already) big stack knocked another big stack out and put together a nice castle worth 182,300. That’s still a long way away from the 1,000,000+ Day 2 bag of Simeon Knafo but it’s a good start.

Event 1 Flight D: Steve Trizis Doubles

$500 Double Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 7:  300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight D Entries:  634  (Total:  2,014)

Steve Trizis

With the board out to the turn and reading KcQc5sTh, Steve Trizis had his 13,500 stack at risk holding AsKh for top pair and a gutshot Broadway draw.

But that wasn’t looking good when he found out he was up against QsQh. The middle set of queens looked good for his opponent until the four-out Jc hit the river for his double up.

“I didn’t mean to do that!” Trizis swore to us.

Action got back underway after the first break with another big number on the horizon. They are only two new buy-ins away from 600 for Flight D with registration open till 2:30 pm. Pretty safe bet it will hit that number.

Eric Rivera, Michael Graffeo, Jeremy Becker, and WSOP bracelet winner James Calderaro are a few of the new faces we found on the last walk among the tables.

A few more familiar faces are in the field including Josias Santos, Marie Harrell, Jeremy Becker, Mitch Mitchell, Alex Ivan and Jeff Morzella.

Event 1 Flight D: Rafael Lima Looking for Tampa Score

$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 3:  100/200 with a 200 ante
Flight D Entries:  470  (Total:  1,850)

Rafael Lima

The pace of new entries continued to cruise over the next level and the count is quickly approaching 500 for Flight D. It won’t break the $1,000,000 mark this afternoon but it will get there this evening in Flight F.

One of today’s entries belongs to Rafael Lima. He made the trek across the state from the east coast of Florida and riding a hot streak. He has five cashes in 2021 with four of them getting to a final table and three of them ending with a tournament win. Lima won the $1,700 Purple Chip Bounty event the WPT Poker Showdown in Hollywood and added another win two weeks ago during their Deep Stack Poker Series.

All of those cashes came in Hollywood, now he turns his sights on Tampa.
