We are closing out the first weekend of the 2022 Tampa Poker Classic by awarding nearly $500,000 in cash today. Event 2 drew 1,463 entries over the five starting flights and 148 return today to play down to a champion set to earn more than $84,000.

Michael Miravi had a huge day during Flight E and returns with a massive chip lead. His 880,000 leads the field with second-place Michial Drake a distant second with 495,000.

There are six minutes remaining in Level 15 and all blind levels last 40 minutes until going up to 60 at the final table. Everyone is guaranteed at least $900 and we have one payout already; William Muniz bagged twice and will receive a min-cash for his smaller bag while playing the bigger one.

Cards go in the air at the top of the hour and we won’t stop (except breaks) until we have our TPC Event 2 champ.

Event 2 was the first multi-flight tournament on the 2022 Tampa Poker Classic schedule and it brought out the players. The tournament drew 1,463 entries over five starting flights to blast the $200,000 guarantee into a $490,105 prize pool.

All 149 players making Day 2 will return in the money and guaranteed at least $900 with $84,535 awaiting the Event 2 champion.

It took a bit to get there, most of the way through two levels, but the bubble burst in Flight E.

Michial Drake opened to 13,000 and the button moved all in for 95,000. Drake thought for several minutes, the rest of the tables finished their action, and Drake called with the bigger stack.

The button player was ahead for a double up but had to win the race. The flop seemed safe, Drake added a small wheel draw on the turn and it got there on the river. Drake made a wheel to knock the button player out and put the field in the money.

Michael Miravi went huge over the last few levels and finished his day with a bag holding 880,000. That is a massive stack with next Day 2 count at 471,000.

Other big stacks from Flight E include Drake with 495,000 followed by Siddharth Siddharth (463,000), Steven Adams (427,000), Haley Pappalardo (384,000), Stuart Taylor (379,000), and James Calderaro (346,000).

The last break is complete and the 70 remaining players are back in action trying to make Day 2.

Michial Drake is the new chip leader with a huge 471,000 in his stack to lead the entire field. Blake Robinson sits in second with 354,000 followed by Michael Miravi (330,000), Haley Pappalardo (325,000), and Bryan Winchell (314,000).

Drake is the defending champion of this tournament, winning TPC Event 2 in 2021 when it was a $600 buy-in.

Haley Pappalardo opened the action and the player to her left ripped it in for 90,000. Action folded back around, she confirmed the count, through for a minute and called.

Pappalardo called with the better hand and needed to hold to gather more chips. The board ran out to sent her the pot, build her stack up to 348,500 and probably put her in the lead at this point.

Players are about to go on the last break of the flight and we will find the big stacks while they are gone.

Cards are back in the air and it’s time for players to make some moves. The stacks are getting deeper and they can begin the hard push to make Day 2.

Bryan Winchell continues to lead the field with 321,500 but Michael Miravi is right on his tail with 320,500. Haley Pappalardo is among the leaders as well with 290,000 and Blake Robinson is moving up with 278,500.

They will play two more levels, take (probably) on last break, and levels will go up to 40 minutes.
