Event 7: And Then There Were Four

$1,100 One-Day Challenge (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 11:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining:  29 of 111

The backlog broke a bit over Level 11 and Event 7 quickly dropped down to four tables plus a few extra knockouts. They still have some time until blind levels go up to 40 minutes so we might see them continue to cruise down.

Jeff Morzella and Karl Manouchakian were among the recent eliminations but Wally Maddah is still sticking around after quadrupling up with a four-card flush.

Event 7; Five Tables Remain

Level 10:  800/1,600 with a 1,600 ante

Event 7 is down to five tables with 40 players remaining and they are taking their time with a lot of money up for grabs.

MT Tawfik is among the leaders with more than 200K at the midpoint of the day. A lot of that came from Wally Maddah when a flopped set beat top two but they are still smiling after Maddah found a triple of his short stack.

The One-Day Challenge field is nearing triple digits which means we are likely to double the guarantee to put up a six-digit prize pool. Registration is open still for another hour, so there’s time to join us.

Some familiar faces in today’s field include Steve Zhang and Walter Rossi back at the same table after finishing sixth and eighth in Event 5 and restauranteur Steve Trizis taking a break from serving tasty food to play some poker.

Level 6:  300/600 with a 600 ante

(Left to right) Ken O’Donnell, Anthony Astarita, Kevin Blewitt, and Karl Manouchakian.

There are a lot of tough spots in the $1,100 but Table 11 might have the rest of them beat. The last four seats are held by Ken O’Donnell (Event 5 winner), Anthony Astarita (WPTDeepStacks Tampa champ), Kevin Blewitt (two-time Tampa winner), and Karl Manouchakian (all-time Tampa cash leader).

Good luck to the rest of Table 11.
