The first break is complete and we found a couple of early frontrunners in the field. Jason Parson was the first break leader after four levels, up to 80,800 coming back from the first break. He will be one to watch going forward.

It looks like the second-biggest stack belongs to John Haas as the April Saturday Triple 30 winner is up to 65,100.

There’s still plenty of time to catch either player with late registration available until ~3:30 pm and Flight D running through Level 14.

Flight D is nearing triple digit entries and will be the biggest flight of the tournament so far by the time registration closed.

Vitor Coelho is here early and trying to win that first SHR Tampa guitar trophy. Despite big success elsewhere, including tournament wins in Hollywood and Atlantic City plus a WPTDeepStack win in Jacksonville (and more than $1,000,000 in career earnings), the Tampa resident has yet to win a tournament on his home turf.

Tournament staff gave the daily reading to the rules to the players gathered for Flight D of Event 2 and cards are in the air with 32 entries to start.

The field will make their way through the first four levels before taking a break and registration is open until the start of Level 9 at 3:34 pm.

We are halfway through the six starting flights with 289 combined entries and three big weekend flights left to go starting with Flight D at 11 am. The $360 buy-in tournament has a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool and it will get closer to the mark by the end of the day.

Players will sit down to 20,000 stacks and the first 24 levels last 30 minutes and increase to 40 from Level 25 forward. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30 pm and Flight D will come to an end after Level 14. Anyone still around will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at 11 am.

Jeff Trudeau Jr was found in the field today and he’s trying close out a year that is already a success. He added two of his seven career WSOP Circuit rings in 2019 including the High Roller title in the WSOPC Coco series.

In addition to those two rings, he conquered a 659-entry field in this summer’s WPTDeepStacks Tampa Main Event for another major title.
