Flight C returned from its first break of the night with 71 entries and climbing. It’s still early in their day with plenty of time to get to the poker room to join them.

We found a couple more familiar faces including regulars Jacob Naumann and Bryce McVay. They are two of the more successful players in action this evening and always a dangerous spot if they are in a pot.

The Flight C entry count climbed over 50 after an hour and it’s getting higher as they near the first break. There are some friendly faces in the early crowd including Cheri Beatty and Jeremy Becker.

Both have SHR Tampa success with wins for each. Beatty picked up her biggest career cash earlier this year when she banked a $20K score for third place in the $200 May Little Slick series. Becker won the Sunday Triple Stack a year ago and has a dozen or so final table results.

Registration has shutdown on two of the six starting flights of Event 2 and 190 entries are in the game. That is a good start and the session will only get bigger as we near the weekend. The $360 buy-in tournament has a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool that will be met early on Saturday.

Players will sit down to 20,000 stacks and the first 24 levels last 30 minutes and increase to 40 from Level 25 forward. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30 pm and Flight C will come to an end after Level 14. Anyone still around will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at 11 am.

The second break is complete and we have an idea who is in contention for the end-of-flight lead. Joe Bartholdi holds the biggest stack of the 26 remaining players and the 2006 WPT Championship victor is up to 224,000 with three more levels to go.

Shahab Mazaheri sits in second with 205,000 with several other close to hitting the 200K mark.

Flight B is flying right along as they hit the last level before the last break of their day. There were 116 entries added to the game but the field is already down to 29 with three more levels to go after the break.

One of those in today’s field made the trek across the state after a nice run in Hollywood. Our sister room just wrapped up their Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open and A.J. Kelsall picked up a nice $60K score after winning the $2,200 Six-Max Turbo. Wasting no time, he flew north and west to Tampa and joining us now for Event 2.

Flight B of the $360 buy-in tournament starts at 11 am with Flight C going to 6 pm. The first flight on Wednesday drew 74 entries and the fields will build as we move into the weekend.
