Level 3: 75/150/25
Flight B Entries: 63 (Total Entries: 169)

The Flight B field is off to a great start with 63 entries early in Level 3. The fast kickoff bodes well for the final tally which came in at 72 last year.

Anthony Hobbs

Among those in the early action is Anthony Hobbs. Hobbs came up dry in Flight A when his king-high flush was second best to Lewis Gallo who found a boat when he went runner-runner.

Jean Zabin

Flight A play has concluded and 21 players are set to punch their tickets to Day 2. Toward the top of the action is Jean Zabin who sits on a stack of 186,000. While it’s quite a journey from the 20,000-chip starting stack, it appears she’ll bag second best to Nick Costa. Costa’s count is unofficial, but it looks like he’s set to throw over 200,000 in a bag.

Complete Day 2 chip counts with seat assignments will be posted shortly.

David Lee

With the blinds climbing, players busting and tables breaking, it’s David Lee who’s rising to the top. At present, Lee sits on about 110,000 and is toward the top of the counts. Lots can happen with more than four more levels left in the day, but Lee is in good position to find an early WPTDeepStacks bag.

Lewis Gallo

The board was dealt through the turn: 9d8c4c3c

There was three-way action versus the small blind, Lewis Gallo in the big and Anthony Hobbs in late position. It checked to Hobbs who announce 3,000 before throwing in a 5,000 chips. The small blind folded and Gallo called.

River: 9d8c4c3c9s

Gallo checked again. Hobbs, who owned about 12,000 behind, bet 3,000 again. It was back on Gallo who promptly jammed just over 12,000. Hobbs hated the bet and thought out loud trying to put Gallo on a hand.

It took a minute or so before he called Gallo’s all-in and saw the bad news.

Gallo: 9h3d for a fullhouse
Hobbs: Kc5c for a king-high flush

After anteeing the next hand, Hobbs was left with just 50 chips. He busted shortly thereafter, but promptly hit registration and got back in with 20,000 chips.
