It’s 6 p.m. in Central Florida and it’s time for Flight B of the $570 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed WPTDeepStacks-Tampa opening event. Today’s Flight A, which still has about 45 minutes of play left before bagging, drew 104 entries putting the event well on pace to surpass the six-figure targeted prize pool.

Level 9 got underway just moments ago and registration is now closed in Flight A of the $570 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em tournament. The clock shows a total of 104 entries making up the field in the first of six starting flights in the WPTDeepStacks-Tampa opener. That figure puts the tournament on pace to draw a combined field of more than 600 and see its $200,000 guarantee exceeded by more than $100,000. In reality, those attendance and prize pool figures are likely quite under-exaggerated as the first flight typically draws one of the smaller fields.

Today’s Flight A schedule sees players bag and tag following Level 14. The event follows the Best Stack Forward format, so any participant unhappy with his or her holdings and can re-enter a subsequent flight.

Today’s schedule is headlined by the first two of six starting flights in the series’ $570/$200,000 guaranteed opener. Flight A has officially begun and it’s followed by tonight’s 6pm Flight B as well as by Friday and Saturday’s Flight C, D, E and F. Day 2 of the multi-flight tournament begins Sunday at noon.

This tournament is points eligible in the WPTDeepStacks Series Champion race and sees its winner earn a $1,100 seat in the $300,000 guaranteed Main Event.
