$1,650 WPO Championship (Re-Entry) End of Level 17: 2,500/5,000 with a 500 ante Players Remaining: 66 of 489
Championship players are on their first break of the day with 66 remaining and 45 getting paid. They’ll hit the money bubble before they have another break and we expect to see a lot of movement.
The purple 500 denom chips are coming out of play and we’ll take a look around the room to see who has gone big in the first three levels.

One could make a living just watching Table 47 today. Another big hand came up there between the two players who hit a lucky river earlier.
Ryan Van Sanford opened from late position and Todd Breyfogle moved all-in for 65,500 from the small blind. Terri-Anne Crawford released her big blind after some deliberation and Van Sanford quickly called.
Van Sanford: Breyfogle:
There was no bad beat this time around as the board ran to send Breyfogle out and the former WPT champ Van Sanford up.
Ryan Van Sanford – 490,000 (98 bb) Todd Breyfogle – Eliminated
$1,650 WPO Championship (Re-Entry) Level 16: 2,000/4,000 with a 500 ante Players Remaining: 77 of 489
We caught the action on Table 47 with Ryan Van Sanford and Michael Policastro heads up after the flop and Policastro all-in for ~94,000. Van Sanford called after a few a minutes thought and he was behind.
Van Sanford: Policastro:
Van Sanford began cutting out chips to pay off Policastro on the turn but he stopped after the three-out river. Policastro looked stunned to be heading out as Van Sanford moved over 300,000.
This is the same table where Todd Breyfogle laid a two-outer on Deborah Farmer, some tough beats at this point in the game.
Ryan Van Sanford – 305,000 (76 bb) Michael Policastro – Eliminated
In addition to cash prizes, the top 45 finishers in the Winter Poker Open Championship earn points toward the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Play of the Year race. Here’s how they’ll be awarded:
Each of the 10 SHRP Championships — beginning with September’s WPTDeepStacks-Immokalee and concluding with August’s Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship — are points eligible in the race. Following the 10th and final Championship, the top three points earners are awarded prizes valued at a $32,450 and lower.

After a middle position open, Todd Breyfogle moved all-in for 67,000 from the highjack, Deborah Farmer quickly called for slightly less on the button, and the early raiser released.
Breyfogle: Farmer:
The flop was harmless followed by the turn. It was the river that got a big reaction from the table and the two-outer sent Farmer out short of the money.
$1,650 WPO Championship (Re-Entry) Level 15: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante Players Remaining: 91 of 489
John Racener open/shoved for 34,800 from the button and Matt Stout called in the small blind to put the 2010 WSOP Main Event runner-up at risk.
Stout: Racener:
Stout was dominant and the flop left Racener looking for a sub-1% miracle. The turn was not part of it and Racener was sent to the rail early while Stout’s stack is now above average.
Matt Stout – 167,000 (56 bb) John Racener – Eliminated
$1,650 WPO Championship (Re-Entry) Level 15: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante Players Remaining: 95 of 489
Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Matt Stout was among the shorter stacks returning today. He needed to run it up if he wanted to contend and that’s what happened early.
Stout moved all-in for 22,500 and Kyle Upper called next to act. Not wanting to leave it at that, Sterling Savill moved in his +100K stack and Upper released his chips uncontested.
Stout: Savill:
Stout was in trouble until he binked the flop. The turn and river were clean to move him up to 70,000.
$1,650 WPO Championship (Re-Entry) Level 15: 1,500/3,000 with a 500 ante Players Remaining: 110 of 489
After a short delay at the start to balance tables, Day 2 of the 2016 WPO Championship is underway in the poker room. They’ll take a break every three levels with a dinner break after Level 20.
Cards are in the air and they’ll keep going until we have a champ.

After three starting flights of work in the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Winter Poker Open Championship, it’s time to whittle down the last 110 players to find our next champion.
The Championship crushed all expectations and only 110 players remain of the 489 entries with a chance to take home the glory. Our players turned a $300,000 Guarantee into a prize pool worth $733,500 with some big money up top for our next big winner.
Joey Alegria returns with the chip lead but it’s still anybody’s game with some big names behind him including John Racener, Brett Bader, Zo Karim, WPT Champ Ryan Van Sanford, and Seminole Hard Rock team member Michael Laake all coming back with big stacks.
Of the 110 returning to the poker room for Day 2, only 45 will earn a piece of the huge prize pool but the last two players are set to add at least six digits to their bankroll.
Play is set to get back underway at noon and we will have all the action from start to finish. Before the night is through, we will crown the next Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Winter Poker Open Champion.
