With two Tampa wins under his belt, Bryce McVay is no stranger to the Seminole Hard Rock. Most notably, he earned his second guitar trophy almost exactly a year ago in the 2016 Winter Poker Open $250 Deep Stack Turbo event.

McVay’s 2017 series is off to a promising start during the early stages of Flight C in the $570. Despite recently dropping a pot where he got 1,100 in preflop and 3,000 in on the flop, McVay is sitting strong with a stack of over 50,000 and the close of registration right around the corner.

For those interested in some four-card poker, there’s a $250 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha Re-Entry tournament freshly underway in the poker room. Now in Level 6, the board shows 102 Flight C entries surpassing a combined field of 400 total. As the Level 5 clock ticked down, Tampa’s Anthony Dianaty was facing off in a heads-up pot. The action was dealt through the river — — and Dianaty was facing a bet of 8,500. After a couple minutes, a tablemate called “time” putting Dianaty on the spot. In the midst of his 10-second countdown, Dianaty reluctantly plopped a 100 chip in the pot signifying his call.

“Good call,” the unknown opponent said.

Dianaty tabled for second pair and took the pot.

Dianaty, a regular in the Tampa room, played both flights yesterday but never found a bag. Flight C is looking better for him as he raked a pot bringing his stack to about 55,000.

The entry count has continued an upward trend since cards went in the air about an hour ago. Typically one to take his shots in the night flights, local standout Karl Manouchakian has a little earlier call time on this Friday and is in the Flight C action.

Manouchakian owns more than $150,000 in career earnings including three wins in right here at the Seminole Hard Rock. A standout series for him came during the property’s 2016 WPTDeepStacks festival when he earned Player of the Series honors.

We’ll keep an eye on Manouchakian’s progress as he looks to maneuver his way to a bag in Flight C.
