Just after the start of play, Ralph Dyer (Orlando, FL) flopped a set of 9s to crack pocket Aces, sending his opponent to the rail.  Ralph is up to ~30k and the early chip leader.

This is a re-entry event, so players who bust out before registration closes (at the start of level 5, about 1:20pm) can try again.

Late registration for this flight is also available until the start of level 5.

The owner of those cracked Aces has owned up to it on Twitter and also tweeted that he’s re-entering:

Level 1:  Blinds 50/100

The third and final flight of the Hard Rock Tampa Spring Poker Open kickoff event is underway.  This event has a $100,000 Guarantee on the total prize pool and so far has seen 136 runners in the first two flights.  Another 64 are needed to meet the guarantee

Players began with 15,000 chips and all levels are 30 minutes long on Day 1.  They’ll play 14 levels with breaks after every four, wrapping up at about 7pm tonight.

The survivors of Flight 3 will join the 23 survivors of Flights 1 & 2 on Sunday at 10am for Day 2.

60 players showed up on Friday night for the second flight of the first event of the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Spring Poker Open, a $560 No Limit Hold’em tournament with a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Cards got in the air at 7 pm and after 14 levels of play, only nine remain. Those nine players will return for the second and final day of the tournament on Sunday morning at 10 am. They will combine with the 14 survivors of the first flight, which took place on Friday morning and the survivors of the third flight, which will take place on Saturday morning to compete for the lion’s share of the prizepool.

Oscar Lindo is the chip leader of the second flight, but still trails John Pappas for chip lead of the overall tournament. Here are a look at the official chip counts for second flight.

Terri Crawford raises to 11,000 from late position and it folds to Gediminas Garmus in the big blind, who goes into the tank.

“Just come back for Sunday,” said Crawford while Garmus is thinking.

“I want to double up,” said Garmus. “I’m all in.”

Crawford asks for a count and after the dealer pulls in the 11,000 from both players she finds out it is 26,400 more for her to call.

“I don’t know how to fold this,” said Crawford while making some groans.

Crawford pushes the chips forward to call and she sees she is slightly behind with her against Garmus’ .

The flop put Crawford squarely in the lead as the dealer spread a flop of . The turn is the , which left Garmus drawing dead and heading for the exits. As Garmus is heading for the door, the staff began to come around with bags for the remaining nine players to bag and tag their chips.

There are ten players remaining and they have all combined to the one table as there are just a few minutes remaining in the day.

Oscar Lindo bets 6,000 after both Adam Santos and Konstantinos Pantaridis check to him on a flop of . Pantaridis is the only caller and they both check the turn card.

The river is the and Pantaridis checks a third time. Lindo bets 15,000 and Pantaridis goes into the tank.

“I guess you got lucky on me,” said Pantaridis while playing with his chips.

Pantaridis pushes forward a call and isn’t happy to see Lindo turn over . Pantaridis mucks his hand and Lindo takes the pot. Pantaridis slips to 185,000 while Lindo grows his stack to 122,000.

Terry Roy (pictured) raises to 6,400 from the hijack. Rob Manjura calls from the small blind and the big blind calls as well. Three players  see a flop of and all three players check.

The turn is the and Manjura leads out for 8,000. The big blind folds and Roy calls. The river is the and Manjura bets again, this time 9,500.

Roy doesn’t take too long to call and tables , good for ace-high and takes the pot after Manjura tables .

Roy is sitting with 63,000 in chips after he scoops the pot. Manjura is hovering around the 90,000 chip mark.

The blinds have been increased to 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante. There are 12 players remaining and this is the last level of the night.

Oscar Lindo and Filipp Khavin get all of Lindo’s 36,600 chips into the middle preflop and it was a flip for Lindo’s tournament life.

Lindo shows and Khavin tables . The board runs out and Lindo doubles up to 77,000 while Khavin is crippled with 3,500.
