Great Entertainment at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa

Many poker players never venture outside the poker room, except to get food and get to and from their cars.  But there’s a lot more to the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa.  The Lobby Bar, Council Oak, and the Hard Rock Cafe regularly host great musicians.

Last Saturday night, the Hard Rock Cafe was rocked by the comedy of Damon Wayans and his son Damon Wayans, Jr.

The pair of comedians sold out two shows and had their audiences in stitches with stories of dating, their family lives, and careers.

In case you missed it, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Poker Blogger Jeff Shurilla aka @ShurillaGorilla is in tonight’s field.

He proved he’s more than just a poker blogger last January when he booked a five-figure score at a casino in Atlantic City.  He finished 5th in a field of 818 entries in the $350 Big Stack NLH event for over $15,000.

More familiar faces have joined the field:

Wadie Khalaf

And some have re-joined, after busting out.  Manny Minaya and Roberto Qunintana are a couple who have recently returned to the registration window.

Event 7: Mendes Tries Again

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$50,000 Guaranteed

Level 3:  Blinds 100/200

Daiane Mendes
Daiane Mendes during Flight B

Daiane Mendez was somewhat disappointed with her stack at the end of Flight B.  She bagged only 10,600, less than the starting stack of 15,000.

The upside is that she can try again today, since this event allows players to bag more than once and take their “best stack” into Day 2.

If she does better today, she’ll have more chips tomorrow.  If for some reason she fails to bag chips at the end of this flight, she will still have her 10,600 chips from last night.
