Many of the Tampa faithful have been waiting until the evening flights for their chance at the event’s $200,000 guaranteed prize pool. Ambassador Wally Maddah and defending WPTDeepStacks-Tampa Main Event champion Anthony Astarita were among those who took their shot last night.

There’s a new batch of regulars in the field tonight — some of whom are reloading after busting previous bullets.

Not only is Karl Manouchakian a Tampa standout and multiple tournament champion, he’s the reigning WPTDeepStacks Player of the Series. He recorded two deep re-entry runs — including a win in the $350 re-entry for $24,000 — and stood out among the rest just 12 short months ago.

Anthony’s Pellegrini’s Tampa win came just about 18 months ago when he defeated a modest field in the 2015 Winter Poker Open Pot Limit Omaha event earning $3,729. A deep run in this $570 would reward him slightly more handsomely.

Lastly, Daniel Ramirez looks for another major Tampa title here in Flight D. He recorded four cashes during the 2015 Winter Poker open including two final tables. His victory, meanwhile, came during the 2015 Summer Deep Stack Poker Series and he earned over $53,000.
