Event 1: Day 2 is Set to Go

$500 Double Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 19:  5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 ante
Players Remaining:  339 of 4,852

The first event of our first WPT Tampa series was a huge success. The tournament drew 4,852 entries over seven starting flights to create the second-biggest field in Florida poker history. The $2,086,320 prize pool is the biggest opening event in Sunshine State history and that’s all thanks to our players.

We had 340 players advance to Day 2 starting this afternoon at 2 pm but we already have a result. James Calderaro advanced two stacks in the opening flights so the WSOP bracelet winner will pick up a $1,030 min-cash for his smallest bag and will play his biggest.

Simeon Knafo leads the return with 1,050,000 while Martin Carnero, Phil Hernz, John Dolan, and Mihaly Lukacs round out the top five. There’s a lot of talent remaining in the field and they are all vying for the nearly $250K top prize.

Cards go back in the air with all 339 players already in the money so we expect furious action at the start. They have 27:34 remaining in Level 19 and levels will increase to 40 minutes after the three-table redraw.

Top 10 returns stacks:
