Brett Apter

Event 12 was the last warmup before the Tampa Poker Classic Championship and it produced a fantastic field and final table. Brett Apter had a huge deficit heads-up but defeated Hunter Cichy to take the top prize of $67,330 for the title.

The tournament drew 106 entries to more than double the $100,000 into a prize pool worth $212,000. The last 11 players made the money and the final table nine advanced to Day 2.

The tournament came down to two top players in Apter and Cichy. The two pros battled for hours until Apter erased Cichy’s lead and won the tournament on a huge coin flip.

Cichy earned $41,610 for his runner-up finish while Apter cashed out for $67,330 and added the TPC trophy to his collection.

Oleg Rutskin

Oleg Rutskin has been hovering among the leaders for most of the day but now he’s joined them. There are a few players creeping up on 300K but he’s over the mark now with 320,000. Rutskin can get comfortable and grind the rest of his day at a table that will not break.
