John Wolff
John Wolff – 100th Place

They hit the bubble and played only one hand of hand-for-hand.  Two players busted out and after the counts were verified, John Wolff had more chips, so he gets credit for finishing in 100th place.

John was all-in for ~104k with AJ and ran into Syed Alvi’s pocket Tens.  The pair held up and John was busted, but since he had more chips than the other busted player, John picks up $958.

Normal play resumed with about 14 minutes left in level 18.  They’ll finish this level, then take a dinner break.

Event 7: Manny Minaya Bubble+4

$560 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em

Level 18:  Blinds 3k/6k/500 ante

Rainer Ebonia
Rainer Ebonia

Three players see a flop of QcQsJc and it is checked to the button, who bet 17k.  Manny Minaya (bb) shoved for 33,700.

After some thought, Rainer Ebonia called and the button folded.  Rainer had AcQd for trip Queens and had Manny’s JcTd crushed.  The last two fell KcTc and were no help to Manny.  He busted out in 105th place, just five spots from the money.

Rainer chipped up to over 500k.

Event 7: Poole Piling Up Chips

$560 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em

Level 18:  Blinds 3k/6k/500 ante

Michael Poole
Michael Poole

Michael Poole has more than doubled his stack since the last break.  The big hand that got him most of it was when he flopped a flush holding Th8h.  The flop fell Ah4h2h and his opponent got all-in holding AK with the Kh for top/top with nut flush draw.

No more hearts appeared on the board and Michael won the big pot and busted his opponent.  He’s up to over 550k.
