Cards are in the air for the last starting day of the 2022 Tampa Winter Poker Open Championship with 60 entries leaving them only 34 away from surpassing the $500,000 guarantee.

It will get there easily this afternoon and then begin climbing until registration closes at 6:30 pm.

The third and final flight of the 2022 Tampa Winter Poker Open Championship gets underway at 11 am and we will be keeping an eye the clock. Once the entry counts hits 94 this afternoon, the tournament will officially surpass its $500,000 guarantee and begin building the prize pool.

Championship grinders start with 40K stacks and all Day 1 levels last 40 minutes, increasing to 60 minutes on Day 2. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 10 at 6:30 pm following the one-hour dinner break.

Flight C will complete 14 levels and survivors will bag up for a Day 2 return tomorrow at noon.

Flight B was halted early in Level 14 with 30:31 remaining when the field hit 24 players remaining. They are bagging up their chips for Day 2 on Sunday at noon.

David DiBernardi took the overall lead with 514,000 with Patrick Murphy, Chris Tryba, Tony March, and Jeevan Nomula rounding out the top five.

Level 14 has arrived, the last level of the night and chance to build a big bag for Day 2. We have 26 players remaining and everyone is still chasing David DiBernardi at the top of the counts.

The last break came to an end and tournament staff immediately broke a table to get them down to 32 players. They will work through two more levels before survivors bag for Day 2 on Sunday at noon.

David DiBernardi continues to lead with 515,000 while Patrick Murphy (383,000), Karl Manouchakian (325,000), and Charles Johnson (313,000) have a shot to get to the top.

Flight B is close to hitting the last four tables of the day as David DiBernardi paces the field. He might lap them.

The three-time Tampa champ, including a WSOP Circuit victory, has by far the biggest stack in the game with 559,000. If we bagged up right now, he would have the overall lead by more than 100K. And he still has two hours to run it up.

Registration closed for Flight B of the WPO Championship with another 145 today putting the combined total at 240. Only 94 new ones are needed and it will get there tomorrow during Flight C which kicks off at 11 am.

Flight B will play through 14 levels and survivors will join the 20 who already advanced to Day 2 on Sunday at noon.
