Anthony Bertuccio is the new big stack with 501,000 with former leader Matthew Leecy still doing just fine at second with 491,000. Jake Ferro, Gabriel Fuller, John O’Neal, and Mo Alhalwani are also stacking big late in the day.

We will return with the end-of-day counts once play has wrapped for the evening.

Matthew Leecy

Players returned to the action after the third break and we have the same two big stacks at the top. Matthew Leecy increased his stack to 346,000 to lead the field and Gabriel Fuller picked up even more with his 311,500 closing the game.

Two-time Hollywood Lucky Hearts Poker Open trophy winner Edwards Muniz is in third with 236,000 and a few players teasing a 200K stack.

Wagner Wysotchanski

Another level down and the entry count up. We are sitting on 130 for the day and that leaves the field only a dozen more before the prize pool tops $400,000.

More friends in the field include Wagner Wysotchanski, NFL pro bowler Calais Campbell, John Dolan, Michael Cohen, Jake Ferro, and Ryan Luker.

Championship Day 1B: Matthew Leecy Way Out Front

$1,700 WPO Championship (Re-Entry)

Level 7:  500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante
Day 1B Entries: 120

Matthew Leecy

Players returned to their seats after the second break and Matthew Leecy is pacing the field. He returned to a stack worth 282,700 for a clear lead and more than 100K over second place Gabriel Fuller’s 182,500.

Leecy can set an incredible record if he takes the WPO Championship title. He already owns Championship wins from two of our major series; Leecy won the headliner from the 2019 Tampa Poker Classic and the 2021 Pinktober Poker Open and this would be his third from three different series. He also finished second to David Bradshaw in this event back in 2016.
