Elie Williams

We are still rolling right along with Lewis Gallo and Charlie Kapetanakos dropping out soon after the redraw and Elie Williams moved all in while they were getting paid out.

He shoved for 350,000 and Rex Clinkscales folded before Michael Cohen reshipped his chip lead. Clinkscale laughed and said he folded JackAce.

Cohen: AcKd
Williams: JsJh

Clinkscales would have been dominated had he gotten out of line instead it was Cohen dragging another pot after the AdQs9d2c7s to send Williams out.

“The guy just can’t lose,” Ory Hen said after the hand.

The 15 remaining players are taking a 15-minute break as tournament staff pull the 1K chips out of play.

The interesting pairing sits on Table 2 where Rex Clinkscales and Michael Cohen are sitting side-by-side a year since they finished first and second in last years Main Event.

Dino Patsourakis

Elie Williams open-shoved for 71,000 and Dino Patsourakis asked for a count from the small blind. Before the dealer could finish counting Williams’s stack, Patsourakis called.

Williams: Ac6s
Patsourakis: Ad7s

Wexler was in trouble of hitting the rail but ,instead he hit the AhJs6c flop for aces up. The board finished 2c and 8s to give Williams the double and Patsourakis down near the felt. He folded his next hand but was gone one hand later against John O’Neal.

Barry Wiedemann

The dinner break is here but not before we had some drama. Former monster stack Barry Wiedemann ran bad and his pocket kings lost to the big slick of Michael Cohen to leave him short and then out before dinner in 30th place.

Cohen, runner-up to Rex Clinkscales last year, now holds a huge lead with 2,900,000 heading into the late stages of the tournament.

Tournament staff will redraw new seats at the last three tables when the players return.

Anthony Astarita

Anthony Astarita was having a pretty good run on Day 2. And then he had his kings cracked by 7-6 to leave him short.

Soon after, he moved all in from early position for 72,000 and the move made it around to Julio Marrero in the small blind. He called and Ahmad Hamoush released his big.

Astarita: Ts8s
Marrero: Qc9c

Our 2016 champ had two live, suited cards to double up but Marrero moved further ahead on the Qc7s6h flop. The 4c turn and 8d river were no help and he was sent out in 33rd place.

Julio Marrero – 640,000 (40 bb)
Anthony Astarita – Eliminated

Both Rex Clinkscales and Anthony Astarita are alive for a second title along with Quentin Jones and Andrew Pacifico who earned their seat via a prelim win.

The pace of play is about 45 minutes behind schedule thanks to the extended money bubble. The 40 remaining players are on dinner break and will return for two more levels before dinner.

Barry Wiedemann is your new chip leader and the only one in seven-digits. He will return to a 1,049,000 stack with Ahmad Hamoush in second with 974,000.
