The blinds were climbing and everyone was running out of energy when talk turned to chopping up the prizepool. This isn’t Miccio first taste of tournament success. She also finished deep in this summer’s WSOP Ladies Championship, making it to 19th place for $4,829.

Sarah McLean (Fort Walton Beach, FL)

The Ladies Event played quickly down to the bubble but they were in no hurry to knock someone out. There was laughter, jokes, and even a few shots in the 45 minutes it took to play it out. That didn’t stop the blinds from climbing though.

Sarah McLean eventually had to take a shot with her short stack and moved all-in for her last 19,000 holding Ks4c. Susan MacPherson looked her up with 7h7d and McLean couldn’t hit her overcard on the TcTh8sAh9c board. The hand sent her out in 6th place and put the rest of the players in the money.

1st: $1,920 + $600 Rock Spa certificate
2nd: $1,200
3rd: $720
4th: $528
5th: $432

The Ladies Event quickly played down to the money bubble when they returned from break.

Jean Miccio got them one step closer when she had Nikita Patalinghug all-in and behind. Miccio’s QsQd dominated As7c and the Tc6c3s9d6h flop sent Patalinghug out in 8th.

Debbie Stokes was the next gone when she mixed it up with Mary Donahue. Stokes was all-in and ahead with AhTc but Donahue’s 9d8d caught up on the 9h7c2d flop. Stokes’ night was done when it ran out 4s and 5h to put them on the money bubble with six remaining.

Good time in the Ladies Event

There’s no hurry in the Ladies Event (with one remaining player calling it jokingly calling it torture) but everyone is having a good time. We’ve only lost one player in the last level and one elimination away from hitting the final table ten.
