In a battle of the blinds, Sheddy Siddiqui and John Duhig got the chips in the middle with Siddiqui having the bigger stack.

Siddiqui also held the best hand with AsQs dominating Duhig’s Ac6c and nothing changed as the board ran out 9s8s3dJhKd. Duhig earned one title earlier in the series but had to settle for 9th place in the Championship for $13,590.

The hand moved Shiddiqui up to 2,700,000 and back in contention for the lead at the eight-handed table.

Championship: Steve Cohen Eliminated 11th ($8,834)

Level 24: 12,000/24,000/4,000 Ante

Steve Cohen (Los Angeles, CA)
Steve Cohen (Los Angeles, CA)

Steve Cohen’s stack had dropped under 400,000 when he went heads up with Robert Georato to the 7d6d3c flop and shoved his last 361,000 first to act.

Georato asked for a count and talked it over to himself. He called the move with a King-high flight draw KdTd and was well ahead of Cohen’s Jack-high Jd8h. Cohen needed help but was down to five outs after the As turn and missed the Th river to go out on the final table bubble.

Tournament staff paused the clock to redraw the final table. We will return with the lineup and counts.

Championship: Michael Raimon Eliminated 12th ($8,823)

Level 24: 12,000/24,000/4,000 Ante

Michael Raimon (Bradenton, FL)
Michael Raimon (Bradenton, FL)

The tournament shortstack, Michael Raimon, shoved the button and Steve Cohen jammed the small blind for more. Jonathan Labace-Sabastien folded his big blind and Raimon’s tournament life was on the line versus Cohen. Cohen held a slight advantage with Ac9c against the QhJc of Raimon.

The AdKh4s2c2d runout gave Cohen the lead and earned him the pot. Raimon busted 12th earning $8,823.

Raimon is a regular at the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa. He’s claimed seven tournament catches within its walls including a victory in a $125 event during this summer’s Summer Deep Stack Poker Series.

Championship: Robert Melo Eliminated 13th ($6,795)

Level 23: 10,000/20,000/2,000 Ante

Robert Melo (Lakeland, FL)
Robert Melo (Lakeland, FL)

Robert Melo was in late position and moved all in for his last 146,000. It folded to Event 3 winner John Duhig and he called.

“I only looked at one,” Melo admitted flashing the As.

Duhig exposed Kc8s and Melo was slightly ahead with the 4s to complement his ace.

The flop fell 5c4d3h pairing Melo’s four and giving him a chance at a straight. A turn Kh flipped the odds and Duhig took the lead to the river. Fifth street was the 8h and Duhig busted Melo. Melo earned $6,795 for his 13th-place finish.

With the bustout comes a pay jump and each of the 12 remaining players has locked up $8,834.
