Francisco Gomez
Francisco Gomez

With the board showing KdQh4s4h on the turn and well over 200K already in the pot, Francisco Gomez moved all in under the gun for 360,000, and his opponent asked for a count from middle position (he was covered by about 80K).

After some thought, the middle-position player called all in for 280,000 with KsQc for top two pair, but Gomez turned over AsAd for a higher two pair, aces and fours.

The river card was the 6s, and Gomez won the pot with his higher two pair to eliminate his opponent from the tournament.

Francisco Gomez  –  800,000  (80 bb)

With about 80 players remaining, the average chip stack is about 436,000 (44 big blinds), and the remaining players are all guaranteed at least $3,417 each.

Faraz Jaka, Carlos Loving, Marshall White, Carlos Loving, Eric Siegel, and Justin Zaki were among those who fell out along with Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year leader David Nathaniel Jr. His 154th place finish gave him another cash but failed to produce more points to extend his lead.

Level 18:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining: 144 of 1,162

David DiBernardi

David DiBernadi picked up another Seminole Hard Rock poker cash today but found himself short after the break. He was all in and at risk for 27,000 with pretty bad kicker issues.

DiBernadi: KcJh
Opponent: AdJs

It looked like DiBernardi was going to hit the rail but the Th6s4d8sKd board saw him river a double. That hand pushed him up to 69,000 before he picked up a few more chips a little later.

DiBernardi has completed a rare feat; he owns major series wins at three different Seminole Hard Rock Poker properties. Two Poker Showdown titles in Hollywood, a Coco Poker Open and Coco WSOP Circuit ring from Coconut Creek, and a Tampa Winter Poker Open guitar trophy from right here in December.

David DiBernardi – 113,000 (19 bb)

Robert Mizrachi

We took the first break as an opportunity to catch up with the payouts that occurred between the bubble and the last 15 minutes of the level.

Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi was eliminated at the end of the level, taking a dangerous player out of their way. Tampa favorite Cheri Beatty had a rough start to her day with her aces getting crack but she made it into the money. Tony Miles, 2018 WSOP Main Event runner-up, went out immediately after the money burst missing out on his first WSOP Circuit ring.

Main Event: Double Bubble KO by Robert Pollmeier

$1,700 WSOPC Main Event (Single Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 17:  2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 180 of 1,162

With the Main Event two eliminations away from making the money, tournament staff prepared to begin hand-for-hand play on the bubble. They asked dealers to hold up after the current hand and stand up.

That last hand was a big one on Table 12. When we showed up, there were three hands face up the unlike battled of AdAc versus KhKd versus QhQd. Robert Pollmeier was in the sweet spot with rockets, Jeff Morzella had the kings, and the Matthew Higgins had the queens.

Pollmeier had the other two players covered and scored the double knockout when the board came Td9h6c7d3c. That hand negated the need for hand-for-hand play and the remaining 175 players were in the money.

They played out the last 14:55 of the level and players were sent on the first break of the day.

Jeff Pollmeier – 260,000 (52 bb)
Jeff Morzella – Eliminated
Matthew Higgins – Eliminated

Main Event: Michael Amato Eliminated Near the Bubble

$1,700 WSOPC Main Event (Single Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 17:  2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 180 of 1,162

Michael Amato

With the money bubble on the near horizon, Michael Amato took a shot to double up and put his 75,500 stack in the middle with AhJc. David Berman had him at risk with QdQc and Amato missed the 9s7s6h4cTh to go out a few spots from the money.

Amato’s elimination dropped the field to 180 players and they will begin bubble play when 176 remain.

David Berman – 255,000 (51 bb)
Michael Amato – Eliminated

Main Event: Ralph Massey Eliminated by David Jackson

$1,700 WSOPC Main Event (Single Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 16:  2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 234 of 1,162

David Jackson

We missed the preflop action but the result was Ralph Massey getting his 86,000 stack in the middle from the button against David Jackson in the hijack.

Jackson: 7c7d
Massey: KsKd

Massey had a monster with a chance to build a stack for a deep into the money. The Qs8s5h flop caused him no problems but Jackson hit the two-out 7h on the turn to take the lead. Massey could not return the favor on the As river to exit short of the money.

David Jackson – 538,000 (135 bb)
Ralph Massey – Eliminated

Main Event: Dan Chalifour Doubles Through A.J. Kelsall

$1,700 WSOPC Main Event (Single Re-Entry)
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 16:  2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 234 of 1,162

Dan Chalifour

A.J. Kelsall opened the action from the cutoff, Dan Chalifour three-bet to 22,000 and Kelsall jammed with the bigger stack. Chalifour thought for several minutes before Kelsall called the clock. As tournament staff counted down towards zero, Chalifour called at risk for 156,500.

Chalifour: JhJs
Kelsall: AcKc

It was a fair race and Chalifour needed his jacks to hold to double up. The dealer spread the non-paint Ts9d6hTc7c board and Chalifour stuck around.

Dan Chalifour – 322,000 (81 bb)
A.J. Kelsall – 62,500 (16 bb)

A.J. Kelsall
