The last break of the day is done and we have a new chip leader in Flight B. Lynn Bowersox pulled a big hand heading into the break and has the big stack in the room with 318,000. Billy Papadopoulos is still doing just fine with 292,500 and Henry Nguyen is in third with 254,500.

The entry count cruised right past the number we had yesterday and the consistent path to empty seats continued. We are going to get very close to hitting the $500,000 guarantee this afternoon; if it falls a little short, it will get there early tomorrow.

We heard some commotion from Table 22 and found Juan Carlos Ramirez jumping from his seat. A recap from the board and other players told the story.

With the board reading , Ramirez and another player put their chips in the middle and Ramirez was at risk for 33,300. He was in bad shape with his set of the fives holding way behind his opponent’s set of queens.

Only the could save him and the came on the river for his one-out double up to 84,000.

The first break has come and gone and we had an early look at our leaders. Billy Papadopoulos has a comfortable lead at the top with 160,900 with his closest competitor being Julio Delgado with 109,200.

Papadopoulos already bagged in the Championship, but he wants to improve on the 82,000 he finished with in Flight A. He’s off to a good start.
