We had an excellent turnout for the first flight of the first tournament of the 2023 Tampa Poker Classic. Exactly 200 entries were put into the game with five more flights to crush the $250,000 guarantee.

Flight A will continue into the evening until only 20 players remain. They will bag their chips and return on Sunday at noon for Day 2 in the money.

Flight A is already putting up big numbers with an hour remaining for late registration or re-entries. With 175 this afternoon, the tournament has already surpassed the number we drew last year for Flight A so we are looking at a fantastic turnout.

Marsha Wolak (former WSOP Ladies bracelet winner and recent Pickleball champ) and Tony March are among the Flight A participants, though March sent Wolak back to the cage to re-enter after the first break.

Event 1 is the first trophy event on the 2023 Tampa Poker Classic series but Event 2 will award the first trophy later this evening and it’s appropriate for Tampa that it’s an Omaha game. A $400 Limit Omaha 8 tournament to be specific with a nice $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The game kicks off at noon, players start with 20,000 in their stack and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm and players may re-enter as often as needed. They have a 30-minute dinner break at 6:30 pm and return to play for the title.

We are kicking off the 2023 Tampa Poker Classic with Flight A of the big opener at 10 am in the Poker Room. Event 1 has a $400 buy-in with a huge $250,000 guaranteed prize pool and six opening flights. A lot of options to choose from.

Players start with 30,000 stacks out front and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes at the start of Day 2. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm.

Flight A will continue playing until 10% of the field remains and those players will bag their chips for a Day 2 return on Sunday at noon in the money.
