The Seniors Event blasted out of the gates with nearly 200 entries before they were through the first hour of the day. The Poker Room is jumping at the moment and the players are having a good time.

Among those in the field, we found Tommy Bates playing in the Poker Room for the first time. As our former Director of Poker Operations, Bates was instrumental in designing our state-of-the-art Poker Room that many in Tampa call home with its 46 comfortable tables, sports bar, and full-service grill for food.

The second of three new tournaments on the WPT Tampa schedule gets going at 11 am with the $400 Seniors Event. This tournament will play out in the Poker Room so make sure you head that way instead of the Event Center.

Seniors will start with 20,000 stacks and play 30-minute levels. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30 pm. They will take a dinner break at 5:30 pm and return to play down to the Seniors Event champion.
