Jack Sumner

Flight A came to an end with 25 players advancing to Day 2 on Sunday at noon. Jack Sumner was off our radar for most of the day but he’s there now after putting together the biggest bag at the end of the night.

Sumner will return to a stack of 564,000 with Fernando Rodriguez not far behind with 534,000. Both have a nice lead over the rest of the field with Michael Beattie’s 397,000 the third biggest stack.

Below you will find the 10 biggest stacks and we will post the entire chip count list as soon as it is available.

Raminder Singh

The last break is complete and they are ready to play through two more levels before booking a seat in Day 2 on Sunday.

The carousel at the top of the counts now has Raminder Singh leading the pack with 426,000. To make things interesting, three of the biggest stacks are seated next to each other with Josh Adkins, Singh, and Fernando Rodriguez occupying seats 1 through 3.

Main Event Day 1A: Josh Adkins Sends One Out; Back On Top

Josh Adkins

Josh Adkins was an early leader and now the WPT Champ is the current leader. He picked up more chips when an opponent shoved from the button for 40,500 and he reshipped from the small blind to get a fold from Raminder Singh.

A big hand in the blinds and Adkins added to his stack after the Th5h2dJh9h run out. The hand put him up to 390,000 with Fernando Rodriguez back in second with 374,000.

Main Event Day 1A: Raminder Running Again

$1,700 WPO Main Event (Re-Entry)

Level 11:  1,000/1,500 with a 1,500 ante
Players Remaining:  58 of 168

Raminder Singh

If you have any experience with poker in Florida, you know that Raminder Singh can go on a big heater at any time. Seems that’s happening in the last 24 hours.

Singh took home top honors in Event 6 last night to earn his first Tampa guitar trophy and he’s picking up today where he left off. He’s spun his stack up to 275,000 since the dinner break and it seems a good number of those chips came from Josh Adkins who has ~190,000.

“It was a cooler,” Singh commented. “Full house versus a flopped straight.”

Main Event Day 1A: Registration Closed with 168 Entries

A great start to the big game with another flight tomorrow at 11am and another on Saturday at the same time.
